OAHU PET PHOTOGRAPHER GETS FULL-PAGE, BACK-COVER

Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

How cool is this!

Tails of Hawaii, one of the top Doggie Daycares on Oahu, just used my photo(Oahu Pet Photographer Deb McGuire) for their full-page, back cover ad in Hawaii Pet Magazine.

I (Deb McGuire Oahu Pet Photographer, Hawaii Pet Photos) snapped the shot of Koa riding in his Dad’s bright red antique car.  Besides cruising, Koa enjoys playing with his human nephews and nieces and hanging out in parking lots.

GREENIES GONE WILD

San Francisco Puppy Mill law Deb Mcguire oahu Pet Photographer has thoughts

The idea germinated with best intentions.  Wild, Whacky, Far-Left Leaning city decides that the best way to fight puppy and kitty mills would be to ban puppy and kitty sales in Pet Stores.  But this wild and wonderful town is San Francisco, and even the best of ideas can be taken to the extreme.

Why stop with puppies and kitties?  So-called “pocket pets” are less likely to be adopted if they are taken to the Humane Society.  So, the ban will extend to those tiniest of pets.  Birds…well, everyone knows that birds are wild animals and that they are incredibly intelligent.  Keeping birds as pets is totally wrong.  So, the ban will extend to birds.  Rabbits are already covered by other ordnances, but reptiles, amphibians and fish are unlikely to be covered…until someone decides to fuss.

The aim of the ban is noble indeed, but will the ban really accomplish the intended result…maybe a ban on people is the only true answer to the problem.

Oahu Pet Photographer loves old puppy dogs

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

One of the many reasons pet parents call and book a session with me(Deb McGuire-Oahu Pet Photographer) is that their puppy dog or kitty cat is getting up there in years and they want a good photo of them. And although this Oahu Pet Photographer(me-Deb McGuire-Hawaii Pet Photos) realizes seniors can be a bit more challenging, I love it. Here’s some shots of Tiffi, a 17 year old mini dachshund .

Hawaii Pet Photographer and a yappy dog

Friday, August 13th, 2010

Yep that’s right ….Hawaii Pet Photographer Deb McGuire just photographed the yappiest dog ever. From the time I arrived to the time I left Chloe barked and barked and barked. Only stopping briefly to grab a dog cookie from my trusty Oahu Pet Photography treat bag. It’s a wonder I got any closed-mouth shots at all. I’m sure her neighbors appreciated the early morning wake up call…bark on Chloe!

Oahu Pet Photography joins forces with Hawaii Yorkie Club

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

Imagine 18 little yorkies, a couple of wiener dogs and a black lab all enjoying a Sunday afternoon at one of Oahu’s most beautiful beach parks. I, (Oahu Pet Photographer- Deb McGuire- Hawaii Pet Photos) recently was the guest of honor at the Yorkie Club of Hawaii’s annual picnic. We had great eats and were treated to an agility demonstration by an Australian yorkie. (He’s bigger than his American counterparts.) Yorkies are oblivios to their small size (7 pounds) and can be a bit demanding. They were originally bred to catch rats in England. It wouldn’t work here in Hawaii, the rats are bigger than them. Check out the shots below. Sadly one of the little darlings featured in the two-shot passed away a week after I snapped her photo.

Oahu Pet Photographer Deb McGuire & Elephant Law

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

As an elephant owner, I have been trying to find a “Pachyderm-Friendly” town that will allow me to walk my pet.  Thanks to San Francisco, I have found a home. Apparently, I can walk my large eared, cuddly beast down the city streets as long as I keep him on his leash.  My only fear is that he might discover a female elephant while we walk.  Tough to reign in the big guy when a “little girl” saunters by.

NO, I AM NOT REALLY LEAVING HAWAII!!!

I just happened upon this elephant leash law after hearing about San Francisco attempts to ban pet sales.

BOOK’ER, DAN’O! Lindsay Goes to Jail!

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

We are devastated!

For weeks, like many, we were anticipating the photos of the ridiculously foolish Lindsay Lohan being shackled and hauled away to the “Paris Hilton Celebrity Isolation Cell.”  Today, Judge Marsha Revel inhumanely denied us that satisfaction.  Tabloid journalism built this moment up, and a judge, who had no reason to be nice to the spoiled former Disney starlet, had the cameras turned off to preserve Miss Lohan’s dignity.  WHAT ABOUT US?!

Then, to add to the injury, we learned that Lindsay’s lockup will impact her upcoming projects.  UPCOMING PROJECTS?!  Who was the Hollywood genius who felt that was a brilliant move?

So, for those who have awaited the shots of Lindsay in non-fashion bracelets, Hawaiipetphotos.com offers a Chihuahua substitute.  The deal is the puppy is smarter.

Oahu Pet Photographer Does Extreme Puppy Makeover

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

Oahu Pet Photographer Deb McGuire recently hosted segment of “The Extreme Puppy Makeover” for OC-16‘s Pet Hui.

The show takes a homeless animal, gives it a complete makeover inside and out, and presents the animal in all its grandeur.  The goal is adoption.

This segment’s star is a little girl named Fluffy.  Fluffy had been seen running around a local strip mall for more than two weeks.  Finally, a concerned security guard caught the dirty little dog and took her to “Friends for Life.”  Lanny Moore contacted Ron Darby.  Ron Darby did some intracranial cognifying.  Fluffy became the perfect candidate for an Extreme Puppty Makeover!

Fluffy received her first-ever grooming session from “Tails of Hawaii.”  Wendy Mah of Sirius Puppy Training provided the mental and psychological clean-up.  Animal Care Foundation in Hawaii Kai gave Fluffy a complete check-up.  She had a fun photo session at the park with yours truly, Deb McGuire Photography…HawaiiPetPhotos.com.  Fluffy finished her day by being treated to a huge bundle of goodies from Pets Discount(the bed she received was so comfy I wanted to crawl into it myself) and lunch at the Costco foodcourt…Fluffy ate a healthy meal while we ate the Costco HotDogs.  The entire program is sponsored by Aloha Kia who provided Fluffy and the Extreme Puppy Makeover Crew with a beautiful Sonata to drive around in for the day.

Be sure to check out Fluffy’s Extreme Makeover on The Pet Hui Show(produced by Ron Darby) on OC16.
