Oahu Pet Photography and Halloween

Deb McGuire, www.hawaiipetphotos.com, participated in two Halloween themed charity events this year.

“Beasties on Parade” was a charity fundraiser at the Bayer Estate on the 24th of October. The event was actually in two parts, an afternoon pet costume party and an evening charity silent auction with food, drink and entertainment. Deb’s own Magic and Sham-rock donned costumes and entered to win categories. Preliminary voting was held on-line. Both Magic and Sham-rock made it through to the live event. Although attendance by the pets was required, that requirement was waved for cats, parrots, lizards and naked mole rats where appropriate. Magic won in here category, Witchy Woman. Sham-rock was not so fortunate in Gruesome Twosome where he was beaten by a recent immigrant from North Carolina. The pup(named Rescue) wore a cape and goggles. His human wore blue tights, a falcon’s helmet, cape, gloves and boots. A little surreal perhaps, but I voted for him!

Sunday’s event, Muttster Mash, benefited The Hawaiian Humane Society. It was hosted by The Hawaii Pet Nanny, Island Dog Magazine and The Pet Hui Show. Most original costume went to two poi dogs named Wiki and Koa who donned cardboard clocks. They were watchdogs!

Deb McGuire Photography, www.hawaiipetphotos.com, was proud to be a part of both events.
